Financial FAQ

Medical insurance benefits may be available depending upon your insurance company’s contract. Because we are a dental office, Dr. Derrico is not in any medical networks.  Also, there are NO benefits through dental insurance for an oral appliance for the treatment of sleep apnea.

Although the cost of the appliance is the patient’s responsibility, our office provides complimentary billing to your medical insurance and will accept the assignment of benefits. To minimize your out-of-pocket expense, we will begin by confirming your insurance eligibility and benefits and obtain any required pre-authorizations and a physician’s written order for your oral appliance therapy. The patient’s out-of-pocket expense is contingent upon the deductible amount, whether the deductible has been satisfied and what the final benefit amount will be.

If there is a remaining balance after medical insurance pays, we offer several payment options.

  • A 5% discount if treatment is paid in full by check or cash at the time of the record’s appointment.
  • By maintaining your credit card on file, we can extend a payment schedule for four monthly payments.
  • We can provide Care Credit as an option, also.  Details can be found on our financial page.

We are pleased to say that College Square Dental is a Non-Participating Medicare provider. This means that we can fabricate an oral appliance for sleep apnea for a Medicare eligible patient and then bill Medicare on behalf of the patient. However, we are not allowed to accept the assignment of benefits from Medicare. All benefits from Medicare are paid directly to the patient. As a result, the cost for treatment for an oral appliance therapy is due from the patient at the time of service.
